It can only be found by searching for it, with patience and a good nose. With Ragnia you experience that search firsthand, in a private forest in Catalonia, alongside someone who has been doing this for over 50 years.
The master trufflehunter and his dogs
The day is led by a master trufflehunter with more than five decades in the trade, accompanied by his trained dogs, today the standard method across Europe: a well-trained dog locates the truffle without damaging it, something the traditional pig can't guarantee. You learn to read the signs they already know by heart: the dog's behaviour, the type of terrain, the trees worth searching under.
The hunt: the forest takes centre stage
You walk through a private forest with privileged views, experiencing firsthand the thrill of every find: a full sensory experience, between the scent of damp earth and the exact moment the truffle appears. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to walk and a bit of curiosity.
The gourmet breakfast: the truffle takes the lead
The day closes with a gourmet breakfast in an exclusive setting, where the truffle you've just watched come out of the ground becomes the true star of the table, prepared in several ways designed to bring out its full aroma.
